Always Best Care Cypress Hosts a Flu Clinic in Partnership with Walgreens
Cookies, Crafts & Care: Bringing Health, Connection and Prevention to Seniors
For the second year, Always Best Care Senior Services of Cypress is proud to partner with Walgreens to bring Cookies, Crafts & Care flu clinics directly into senior living communities.
What began as a creative way to make immunizations more accessible has grown into a meaningful community initiative centered around prevention, connection, and senior advocacy. This season, Always Best Care Cypress has already completed its fourth Cookies, Crafts & Care clinic, bringing together refreshments, engaging crafts, fellowship, and convenient access to flu vaccinations—all within the comfort of the communities our seniors call home.
This year, the initiative has expanded beyond Cypress. Marisa Thompson with Always Best Care Kingwood embraced the Cookies, Crafts & Care concept and secured four clinics for the Kingwood agency, extending the partnership’s reach and creating additional opportunities to bring accessible immunization services and meaningful engagement directly to seniors.
For me, these clinics are especially meaningful because they allow two of my greatest professional passions to intersect. As a pharmacist and senior care advocate, I have spent my career caring for patients and helping families navigate healthcare. Pharmacists are among the most accessible healthcare professionals in the community, and Cookies, Crafts & Care allows me to take that accessibility beyond the pharmacy counter and directly to seniors where they live.
But these clinics are about more than administering a vaccine. They create opportunities to sit with seniors, answer questions, build relationships, provide education, and advocate for preventive care—all while creating an environment that feels welcoming, social, and engaging rather than clinical.
Through the partnership between Always Best Care and Walgreens, we are demonstrating what community healthcare can look like when senior care and pharmacy come together with a shared purpose: meeting seniors where they are, helping them stay healthy, and making sure they feel cared for along the way.
Cookies, Crafts & Care is more than a flu clinic. It is community, connection, prevention, and care—all in one place.
